Anambra candidate vows to remove ineffective leaders

A Unique Campaign Strategy: Chioma Ifemeludike Launches Football Tournament to Engage Anambra Youth

Chioma Ifemeludike, the candidate for the African Action Congress in the upcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State, has launched a distinctive campaign initiative by organizing a football tournament aimed at discovering and nurturing young talents across the state’s 21 Local Government Areas.

The event, named “Chioma4Governor Tournament 2025,” was unveiled at the Saint Faith Anglican Church field in Awka over the weekend. During the launch, Ifemeludike expressed her determination to replace the current leadership with a more effective administration that can bring about meaningful change for the people of Anambra.

The tournament is not just about sports; it offers substantial incentives for participants. The overall winner will receive a grand prize of N1 million, while the first runner-up will get N500,000 and the second runner-up will be awarded N200,000. Additionally, all participants will receive valuable gift items as recognition of their efforts and commitment.

A Multifaceted Talent Engagement Initiative

According to Ifemeludike, the tournament is part of a broader talent engagement initiative designed to celebrate the creativity, resilience, and cultural vibrancy of the youth in Anambra. The program includes three major categories: music, football, and drama, each aimed at inspiring and empowering the younger generation.

She emphasized that the initiative is not only about entertainment but also about driving positive change among the youth and educating them on their roles in shaping the future of the nation. “Witnessing the emerging talents shine on stage and the spirited competition on the football field was inspiring,” she said. “It wouldn’t have been possible without their belief in our mission.”

Ifemeludike expressed hope that the youth enjoyed the event and encouraged them to continue supporting her campaign. She also highlighted the excitement surrounding the upcoming weeks, which will mark the final phase of the campaign leading up to the elections.

Addressing Rumors and Reaffirming Commitment

In response to rumors suggesting her withdrawal from the race, Ifemeludike firmly denied the claims, calling them “fake news” orchestrated by those who oppose progress in Anambra. She criticized the current leadership for its lack of vision and stated that her candidacy represents a genuine effort to bring inclusive governance to the state.

“I am still very much in the race to save my people from bad governance,” she said. “I am in the race to lead Anambra State to the next level. My candidacy has been massively accepted by the good people of Anambra State.”

She reiterated her commitment to the people, stating that no other candidate possesses the same level of passion or plans for the welfare of Anambra residents. “I didn’t have any interest to step down or work with anyone whose standards and principles are not in line with mine,” she added. “As long as Chioma Ifemeludike’s name is still on the ballot, I will fight to the finished line.”

A Grand Event with Long-Term Goals

The main tournament, filled with electrifying performances, football matches, and dramatic showcases, will run for six weeks and culminate in a grand closing ceremony on November 6, two days before the election. This event serves as both a celebration of youth talent and a platform for political engagement.

Ifemeludike extended her gratitude to party leaders, the Take It Back Movement, volunteers, sponsors, partners, fans, and the entire community for their support in making the event a success. She remains confident that her campaign will resonate with the people of Anambra and lead to a transformative leadership change on November 8.
