Kebbi ADC vows unity ahead of 2027 elections

ADC in Kebbi State Denies Internal Division Reports

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has strongly refuted claims of internal discord within the party, emphasizing its unity and focus as it prepares for the 2027 general elections. The party’s response comes after reports surfaced suggesting that it was facing a crisis and was on the brink of collapse.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the ADC’s Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Musa, labeled the allegations as “baseless and misleading.” He accused certain politicians of trying to undermine opposition parties by spreading false information.

“We wish to inform the people of Kebbi State and all Nigerians that the report is baseless and contains inaccurate information,” Musa stated. “It is an attempt by some politicians and interested parties to mislead the public and weaken the influence of opposition parties.”

He further emphasized that the ADC in the state remains intact despite efforts by individuals to create the illusion of division within the party. “It is widely known that, at times, a few individuals are used to create confusion or fabricate disagreements within opposition parties,” he added. “However, we assure the public that the ADC remains strong and united, and there is no division within the party.”

Musa explained that the current process in the state chapter of the party is part of a restructuring initiative aimed at strengthening its structures across the state. “Regarding what is happening in Kebbi State, the process currently underway is simply a restructuring of the party and strengthening its structure at the local government and ward levels in preparation for the 2027 general elections,” he said.

He also highlighted that a court had confirmed the legitimacy of the party’s national leadership. “The leadership continues to function in accordance with the law and the party’s constitution,” Musa noted.

Membership Registration and Party Integrity

The ADC spokesman announced that the party had launched an online membership registration system and encouraged members and supporters to participate. “Only registration and possession of a membership card will confirm an individual as a full member of the ADC. Therefore, anyone without a membership card will not be recognized as a full member of the party,” he said.

Musa added that the registration exercise in Kebbi State was being conducted with the approval of the state leadership under the chairman, Safiyanu Bala. “We urge all eligible individuals to take advantage of this opportunity to register and become official members of the ADC,” he said.

Commitment to Transparency and Unity

Musa reaffirmed the party’s dedication to promoting transparent and people-oriented politics. He called on residents of Kebbi State to ignore rumors that suggested the party had split into factions. “We are committed to serving the people of Kebbi and ensuring that our policies and actions reflect their interests,” he said.

The ADC’s message is clear: despite external attempts to destabilize the party, it remains focused on its goals and determined to maintain unity as it gears up for the upcoming elections.
