Tripura CM Manik Saha Claims 19,742 Jobs Created by Government

Commitment to Merit-Based Employment and Infrastructure Development in Tripura

Tripura’s Chief Minister, Manik Saha, has emphasized the state government’s unwavering dedication to creating employment opportunities based on merit, transparency, and qualifications. During a recent event, he highlighted that since the government took office in 2018, a total of 19,742 individuals have been employed, including those who died in harness.

The appointment letter distribution ceremony for Junior Engineers under the Public Works Department was held at Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala. This event marked a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to provide jobs to qualified candidates. The Chief Minister stated that the current administration is focused on the overall development of the state, job creation, and ensuring the welfare of its citizens.

Embracing Technological Advancements

Saha also mentioned that the era of artificial intelligence is here, and it is crucial for the government to keep pace with technological advancements. He noted that the government is aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who emphasizes “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” for the benefit of all societal sections. Under this initiative, the PM Vishwakarma Yojana has been launched to support 18 different groups, with an allocation of approximately Rs 13,000 crores.

The Chief Minister further explained that the state government has allocated Rs 7,000 crores for infrastructure development in this year’s budget. The goal is to build a more beautiful Tripura and ensure proper implementation of these projects. He expressed confidence that next year, the budget could be increased to Rs 10,000 crores if the current initiatives are effectively executed.

Ensuring Transparency and Accountability

Transparency remains a cornerstone of the government’s approach. Saha emphasized that there is no need for job seekers to resort to unconventional methods such as marching for jobs or visiting party offices. Instead, the government ensures that jobs are provided to qualified individuals based on their merit and ability. Additionally, the government is making arrangements for proper training after appointments.

As of June 27 of this year, the government had already provided jobs to 19,484 people, including those who died in harness. Today, the total number of employed individuals has reached 19,742. Furthermore, additional jobs have been created through contractual and outsourced means.

Achievements and Future Goals

Tripura has recently achieved full literacy status, becoming the third state in the country to do so. This achievement highlights the state’s progress in education and development. The state now ranks second in the North Eastern region in terms of per capita income and GSDP.

Various initiatives, such as the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Skill India Mission, and Digital India, are being implemented to enhance the skills and opportunities available to the youth. Moreover, technical educational institutions with advanced infrastructure have been established within the state, allowing students to pursue engineering studies without leaving Tripura.

Government Support and Collaboration

The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, PWD Secretary Kiran Gitte, and other key administrators. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort of various departments in driving the state’s development agenda forward.

With a strong focus on transparency, merit-based employment, and infrastructure development, the government of Tripura continues to work towards building a prosperous and inclusive society. The commitment to these principles is evident in the ongoing efforts to create jobs, improve living standards, and ensure the welfare of all citizens.
