A Commitment to Community and Health
In a related development, MTN Ghana Foundation, in partnership with Cal Bank, has launched the 2026 edition of its “Save A Life” blood donation campaign. The initiative aims to collect 7,000 units of blood in a single day to support the National Blood Service and hospital blood banks nationwide.
The nationwide blood drive is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Donation centers will be activated across all 16 regions, with major collection points including MTN Ghana’s Head Office, MobileMoney Ltd office at the Stanchart Building, and Cal Bank Head Office at Ridge, Accra, alongside 44 designated centers nationwide.
Samuel Bartels, Senior Manager for Regulatory and Government Affairs at MTN Ghana, emphasized the importance of the campaign:
“Ghana still faces a significant blood shortage and every unit donated becomes a lifeline for someone’s parent, child, friend, or colleague. This campaign is not just another event. It is an act of love, a demonstration of leadership and a reaffirmation of our MTN value to lead with care.”
He urged individuals, corporate institutions, and the wider public to participate, noting that blood remains essential for emergencies and routine medical care.
Since its launch in 2011, the “Save A Life” campaign has mobilized over 35,000 units of blood, making it one of Ghana’s most impactful voluntary donation programs. The 2026 edition builds on this legacy, expanding reach and reinforcing MTN Ghana Foundation’s commitment to national health and community well-being.
Members of the public can find the full list of donation centers on MTN Ghana’s website and official social media platforms.
